AURORA — Mark Anthony Garcia, 53, died on November 5, 2012, at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado surrounded by his family.
Mark was born in Monte Vista, Colorado, on April 2, 1959, to Juan “Cassie” Garcia and Carrie Mondragon Garcia. He moved to Denver at the age of 8. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Denver, Colorado. He worked several different occupations but he enjoyed working in the floral industry the most. Mark also resided in Saguache, Colorado, for many years but lived most of his life in Denver.
Mark loved spending time in the mountains, fishing and looking for arrowheads. He also enjoyed playing cards and taking care of his dog, Fletch. Mark enjoyed watching the Broncos, Nuggets and Avalanche. Mark was a very generous person especially with his nephews, nieces and great nephews. He loved all of his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially those in Saguache.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Garcia; grandparents Salvador and Casimira Garcia and Humbert and Madeline Mondragon; one aunt, Shirley Martinez; and four uncles, Dave Torres, Condie Garcia, Jake Garcia and Tommy Garcia Sr.
Mark is survived by his father Juan “Cassie” Garcia of Saguache/Denver, brother Terry (Linda) Garcia of Lakewood, sister Therese “Rese” Garcia of Saguache, Geraldine (Ben) Ramey of Westminster, five nephews, two nieces, four great nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 17th, 2012 at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Saguache, Colorado with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Saguache.
