Saguache holds winter celebration

SAGUACHE —Visit Saguache on Saturday, Dec. 1, for a Winter Extravaganza, featuring a full day of festivities to begin the holiday season. A full day of events will begin with the

Christmas Bazaar held in the Community Building at Otto Mears Park.

There will be tables and tables and tables of wonderful gifts at excellent prices. The bazaar opens at 10 a.m.

The Historic Ute Theatre in downtown Saguache will present “Christmas in Saguache.” It will feature singers, the Saguache Sophisticates dance group, dramatic monologues, vignettes, and a hilarious scene from last year’s production of “A Tuna Christmas.” Also performing will be the Saguache Chorus with songs from their upcoming concert.

The first performance will be a matinee beginning at 3 p.m. followed by an evening performance at 6:30 p.m., with a suggested donation of $5. In between the two performances will be the lighting of the Christmas Tree on Main Street at 5 p.m., and hot chocolate and snacks at the new Welcome Center.
