EEOC investigates sexual harassment case

ALAMOSA -- A female employee of a local potato company was subjected to unwelcome sexual harassment by a supervisor and was forced to quit her job as a result, according to a recent finding by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Judge denies Abeyta sentence reduction request

ALAMOSA -- In a recent technical ruling, United States District Court Senior Judge John L. Kane denied a motion for sentence reduction/modification for Doris Marie Abeyta who was sentenced earlier this year to three years in prison for her part in the Alamosa Housing Authority embezzlement scheme.

Pacheco pleads not guilty in father's death

ANTONITO -- On Friday Aug. 20, Defendant Joseph Pacheco, 35, Antonito went before Judge Elizabeth Garcia, in the Conejos combined court to enter a plea of not guilty.
Pacheco is charged with the February 25 strangulation of his father, Delfino Pacheco, 73, Antonito, during an alleged drunken altercation between the two.
