Walter James Maddux

PUEBLO — Walter James Maddux, 76, born Sept. 19, 1942 in Alamosa, Colo., passed away on April 19, 2019 in Pueblo, Colo.

Walter was proceed in death by his father, Raymond J. Maddux; his mother, Laureta F. Burpo; wife, Eujeania M. Maddux; daughter, Yvette S. Maddux; grandson, Jacob P. Maddux; and granddaughter, Krystin A. Maddux.

He is survived by his brother, Stanley G. (Marcella) Maddux of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; sister, Peggy (Michael) Stong of St. Charles, Mo.; son, Walter C. (Rose) Maddux of Pueblo; son, Raymond P. (Loretta) Maddux of Pueblo; daughter, Victoria Eernisse of Monument, Colo.; grandchildren, Douglas (Sarah) Maddux, James Maddux, Sorsche (Kyle) Provost, Tre (Savannah) Sisneros, Devin Maddux and Ankica Maddux; and great-grandchildren, Rose and Nicolae Maddux, Nicholai, Elora and Marshal Provost.

Walter grew up in the Valley, working on the Maddux dairy farm until he graduated from Alamosa High School in 1960. Walter spent most of his adult life in Pueblo and retired from CF&I Steel. Per Walter’s wishes, he will be cremated and the family will be holding a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
