Fredrick Oscar Gibson was born on Nov. 29, 1936, in Bountiful, Colo., to Fred Thaine and Elva Loudell (Carr) Gibson. Fred passed away on May 17, in his home, in Bountiful. 

Carmel Martha Ambriz, a beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on April 19,1944, to Faustin and Claudina Trujillo of Fort Garland, Colo. 

June Rose Brumfield passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day at Western Slope Memory Care in Grand Junction, Colo. 

Evelyn M. Sellers passed away on May 13, 2025, at Skyline Ridge Nursing Home in Canon City, Colo. She was born to Ernest Reed and Rebecca Mae Reed of Grafton, W.Va., on Feb. 24, 1931. She was married to Gerld W. Sellers of Manassa, Colo., on Nov. 21, 1961, and later to Donald Conklin of Tres Piedras, N.M., on June 16, 2012. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of 'Marvelous" Marvin Nick Martinez, 58, on May 17, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Del Norte, Colo. Born on Feb. 19, 1967, Marvin was a cherished son, brother, and friend, known for his infectious laughter and generous spirit. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claude Arnold Silva Jr. on May 9, 2025, in Monte Vista, Colo. Born on April 19, 1958, in Winnemucca, Nev., Claude lived a life filled with music, family, and cherished connections. He was 67 years old at the time of his passing. 

Larry Schockey, beloved husband, father and grandfather, left this world richer than he found it on May 13, 2025, at his home in Monte Vista, Colo. Born on Jan. 4, 1941, in the heart of Caldwell, Idaho, to Charlie and Ruby Gordon Schockey, Larry's journey through life was one that exemplified love of family, a sense of adventure, and a curiosity for the world's wonders. 

Frances Kay Kahler, fondly known as Kay to her family and friends, passed away at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa, Colo., on May 13, 2025. Born on Dec. 17, 1941, in Medford, Ore., to Reuben Gillespie and Frances Dunn, Kay's vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness marked nearly 84 years of a life well lived. 

Jonathan Alan Crowther was born on Jan. 9, 1969, to Robert G. Crowther and Mary Lou Reynolds. He passed away on May 14, 2025, at his home in Lakewood, Colo.  

Daniel Lee Viergutz passed away after a long illness on April 15, 2025. 

ALAMOSA - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ernie Wooten Sr., a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on July 20, 1945, in Piggott, Ark., to Frank and Loletta Wooten. 

Willard E. Williams, 73, passed away at his home on May 10, 2025. He was born in Salida, Colo., on Aug. 20, 1951, to Richard Owen and Willie “Dolly” Elizabeth (Payne) Williams.  

Marinan Keeling, 78, of Fredericksburg, Texas, died on April 19, 2025, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 15, 1946, in Longmont, Colo., to LaMar and Nancy Henry.  

Lance Michael Martinez was born Aug. 1, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Del Norte, Colo., to Marvin and Jill Martinez. 

San Rafael resident Fedelina Vigil, 84 passed away May 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Fedelina was born on June 24, 1940, in San Rafael, the daughter of Vicente and Margarita Madrid.

David Frederick Doyle, 76, passed away April 23, 2025, with his son Dustin, his sister, Deb, and brother-in-law Lynn by his side.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Benjamin "Benjie" Lee Quintana, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on Aug. 20, 1965, in Del Norte, Colo., Benjamin was a cherished member of the Monte Vista community, where he lived a life full of love, humor, and adventure. 

Peggy J Asher, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 96. Born in McCamey, Texas, on Feb. 11, 1929, she lived a full and adventurous life, rich in love, laughter, and purpose. 

Severo A. Chavez, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Rio Rancho, N.M., on Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and a longtime resident of Antonito, Colo.
