Rose Marie A. Sierra, 74

Alamosa resident Rose Marie Ann Sierra, 74, passed away March 8, 2018 at her home under Hospice Care with her loving family by her side. Rose was born on March 29, 1943 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of George Valencia and Prisca Lopez Valencia. Rose was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was a member of the V.F.W. Post #899 and the American Legion #113. She enjoyed going to bingo, gambling and watching the Denver Broncos. Her greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include her husband Bill Tate of Alamosa, CO; daughters Barbara Garley of Alamosa, CO; Feminia (Lucas) Hebert of Arvada, CO; Kathy Garley of Alamosa, CO; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Dorothy (Adolph) Jiron, Carol Serna, Carmela Marines all of Alamosa, CO; Peggy Valencia, Corine (Bernie) Marquez, Irene Archuleta all of Albuquerque, NM; brothers Jimmy (Bertha) Valencia and Michael (Veronica) Valencia both of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents George and Prisca Valencia and one son George Garley.

Cremation was chosen. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at Sacred Heart Church. Inurnment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery. The care of arrangements have been placed in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
