Rev. Paul R. LeVan, 86

Rev. Paul R. LeVan, age 86, of Erie, formerly of North East, died on Saturday September 9, 2017 at UMPC Hamot.  He was born on March 6, 1931 in Muncy, PA to the late Nelson and Helen (Wertman) LeVan.  He graduated from Houghton and Lycoming Colleges earning a degree in Theological Studies and obtained a Masters of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1955.  His Churches include: Liberty Baptist-Blanchard; First Baptist-Emporium; Harmony Baptist-New Castle; Greenfield Baptist-North East (currently Pastor Emeritus); First Baptist-Center, CO; Calvary Baptist-Hermitage, Wayland Baptist-Meadville; Interim Pastor at Immanuel Baptist and Lincolnville Baptist.  A major highlight of his ministry was "Journey to Bethlehem" and he was an advocate for Mission work.  He enjoyed hunting.  

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara LeVan and a brother Nelson Eugene LeVan.  He is survived by his sons; Stephen LeVan of North East and Jonathan LeVan of Erie; daughters, Deborah Swift (Douglas) of Las Vegas, NV, Suzanne LeVan of Center, CO, and Patricia LeVan of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Myron LeVan (Dorothy) of Muncy, PA; grandchildren Kathryn and Paul LeVan of Erie.  

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 1:00 pm at the Greenfield Baptist Church, 9028 Williams Road, North East, PA  16428. Officiating the service is Rev. David Waldo.  Immediately following the service, interment will be held at Greenfield Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Water of Blessings Mission, care of the Greenfield Baptist Church.  Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
