Rev. Patricia ‘Tricia’ Ann Schneider

Alamosa resident the Rev. Patricia “Tricia” Ann Schneider, 76, died May 6, 2023, at the Centura Health Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Tricia’s life began in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 28, 1946, the daughter to Lyle E. Riley and Frances E. Lewis Riley. She met the love of her life, David W. Schneider, while attending United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. They were united in marriage on Aug. 18, 1988, in Dayton, Ohio, and have enjoyed over 34 years together.

Tricia graduated from Weber State with Magna cum Laude honors, graduated from Iliff Theological Seminary in Denver, and attended United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. In her early years, she worked at a Planetarium in Salt Lake City and enjoyed amateur astronomy. Her primary roles were fulfilled as a Hospice Chaplain in Ohio, Kentucky, and Alamosa, Colo. Her ministry calling brought her to Alamosa where she served as the Pastor at the First Christian Church and Disciples of Christ for nearly five years.

Tricia enjoyed singing and was in many choirs, including some directed by her husband. In her later years, she enjoyed Cozy mysteries in both book format and movies. She was also an avid fan of disaster movies.

Tricia is survived by her husband David W. Schneider of Alamosa; her siblings Steven (Teena) Riley of Pennsylvania, and Dory Parker of Alamosa; her nephews Marcus and Luke Riley, Caleb Parker, Matthew Belt and her niece Hannah Belt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Dale Riley and Darby Belt. She was also preceded by her first husband, Frank Boucher.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, 2005 Mullins Ave., Alamosa.
