Monte Vista resident Nora Ann Gonzales, 72, passed away April 12, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs surrounded by her loving family. Nora was born on July 10, 1944 in Monte Vista, Colorado, the daughter of Zacarias Martinez and Renee Garcia Martinez.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who loved taking care of the grandchildren and church activities, but especially enjoyed family time.
Survivors include her husband Manuel F. Gonzales of the family home in Monte Vista, CO; sons Mark (Donna) Gonzales and Matthew (Rachel) Gonzales, both of Monte Vista, CO; sisters Lucy Romero of Ogden ,UT; Orpha Martinez of Ogden, UT; Pam Martinez of Monte Vista, CO; Oma Roybal of Ogden, UT and brother Zacarias (“Rachel”) Martinez of Monte Vista, CO; grandson she raised Jeremiah; grandchildren Nathan, Sylvia, Daniel, Alyssa, , Jennifer, Hannah, Matthew Anthony, Leesa, Marisah, Jacob, Dominick and Erin, great-grandchildren Amyiah, Jaylah, Markayah, Nathaniel,, Alex, Dematrio, Kobe, Manny, Elijah, Cruz, Niko, Mateo, Anjanae, Fanteysia, Mason, Oliviah, Aadin, Khloe and Uriah. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nora is preceded in death by her parents Zacarias and Renee Martinez, sister Martha Martinez, brothers Jerry and Clyde Martinez and grandson Mark Tuff Gonzales.
Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 at the Monte Vista Assembly of God Church in Monte Vista.
The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
