Leon Steven Lujan “Lion King” 57

San Ford resident Leon Steven Lujan, 57, was called home to the Lord March 11, 2019 at Baylor Scott White hospital in Waco, Texas with his loving family by his side.  Leon was born April 17, 1961 in Marysville, California to Louis and Josephine (Madrid) Lujan.  He attended Antonito High School and then served in the United States armed forces Army division as a paratrooper, as he’d say became, “Airborne”.  He enjoyed working with his father in their family owned business, Lujan Hi Tech Roofing until he started working, bowed up like a cut worm, as he would say, in the Millwright turbine industry.  Leon enjoyed traveling all over the world whether it was for business or pleasure.  It was hard for anyone to be a stranger when he was around you definitely heard him before he entered a room.  Leon’s  wild, loud, fun personality was hard to be negative around especially because his favorite quote was “stay positive” no matter what.  Leon’s love for life was easy to see wherever he went.  He enjoyed fishing, having a cold one and making Menudo.  He enjoyed many things in life but especially supporting his son’s business Alphalete Plumbing any time he had a chance.  Leon was a leader who loved to help anyone around him, He was a fun filled man with lots of love for people but most importantly his children, grandchildren and family who he loved to spend time with.

Survivors include his son Diego Lujan (Brittany) Grandchildren Damian, Analeia, Avaya, Stevie Jr., Druidess and Talon.  Brothers Louie Lujan, Jr., and Leroy Lujan, many nieces and nephews.

Leon was welcomed home by his daughter Shauna Atencio, Father Louis Lujan, Mother Josephine Lujan and Bingito.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday March 29, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos.  A Funeral Mass to celebrate Leon’s Life will be held on March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. Cremation was chosen.
