Jeremy ‘Red Hawk’ Cabrera

Jeremy "Red Hawk" Cabrera passed away May 3, 2023, in Pueblo, Colo. He was born April 6, 1980, in Alamosa, Colo., to Kathy Cruz.

Jeremy was preceded in death by grandfather Melaquis "Joe" Cruz.

He is survived by his daughter Kimimilla Cabrera, mother Kathy Cruz, dad Victor Martinez and step-father Greg Cabrera, grandmother Bella Cruz, sisters Margaret Arellano, Renee (Anthony) Rivera, uncles Rick Medina and Dave Garcia, aunts Maryann Martinez and several other aunts and uncles, nephew Melaquis Arellano, neice Coràzon Arellano as well as his monster face Joseph Beeman and special cousin Estevan (Lisa) Medina and special friends Kim and Roxann and many other friends that he made family.

Jeremy was a father, son, grandson, brother, and friend. He was a kind soul that helped anyone in need. Jeremy was a kind generous person who loved his daughter and would move mountains to make her smile. Jeremy was part of the Lakota tribe and was always at ease when he was one with Mother Earth.

Jeremy liked to hunt and fish but his favorite pass time was being with his daughter doing what she wanted. Mimi is and forever will be his greatest accomplishment.

Jeremy was a friend, but he always became family because of his good spirit and honest words. He will forever hold a place in so many hearts he will be missed dearly gone but never forgotten.

Cremation was chosen and services will be held at the Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis, Colo., on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. for Rosary and 11 a.m. for Mass. There will be a procession to the Vega to release balloons in memory of Jeremy. Family and friends are invited back to the Friendship Hall for a meal with Jeremy's family after.
