DENVER  — George Gilbert Gonzales, 61, passed away on July 13, 2019 in Jefferson County. He was born on July31, 1957 in Del Norte, to Samuel J. and Emma Gonzales.

George is a graduate of Del Norte High School, Class of 1975. He joined the U.S. Army in 1976 and did a tour in Korea. He later moved to Denver where he met and married his wife, Vivian.

George is survived by his mother Emma Gonzales of Del Norte; his children, George Gonzales Jr. (Billy), Joseph Gonzales; his grandchildren, Juliet, George III, and Cody Gonzales of Amarillo, Texas; his brothers David Gonzales of Alamosa, Matthew Gonzlaes of Del Norte, and Sam Gonzales Jr. of Denver; and his uncle Augustine (Cathy) Gonzales of Del Norte. He was preceded in death by his father Samuel J. Gonzales and grandparents Guillermo and Madeline Gonzales.

There will be a viewing on July 26, at Advantage Runyan Stevenson Chapel 6425 West Alameda Ave. in Lakewood.
