The National Weather Service in Pueblo has extended the

* Flood Warning for...

  Rain and Snowmelt in...

  Southeastern Conejos County in south central Colorado...

* Until 715 PM MDT Wednesday

* At 330 PM MDT, emergency management officials reported flooding in

  Conejos County along the Conejos and San Antonio rivers.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

  Antonito, Conejos, Ortiz and the T-Bone`s Ranch area. Streams

  affected include the Los Pinos, the Conejos, and the San Antonio

  Rivers.

* Homes are threatened and sand-bagging is underway. Local officials

  are preparing for further sand-bagging operations, evacuations,

  and sheltering if they become necessary due to worsening flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying

spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become

unstable and unsafe.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you

can do so safely.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Flood Warning for...

  Rain and Snowmelt in...

  South central Huerfano County in southeastern Colorado...

* Until 1145 AM MDT Wednesday

* At 1130 AM MDT, Emergency Management officials reported flooding

  on the Cucharas River in and near La Veta.  Flooding was noted on

  Highway 12 near mile marker 12 and also on the old golf course.

  Flooding is expected to continue in La Veta and additional locations

  along and near the Cucharas River into Wednesday.

  In addition, the atmosphere is prime for additional moderate to

  heavy rainfall over and near this area into at least Wednesday,

  therefore downstream locations such as Walsenburg should monitor

  closely as flooding may impact Walsenburg, especially if heavy

rainfall   develops during the next 24 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

  Locations along and near the Cucharas River, including but not

  limited to La Veta and Cucharas.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All

interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
