Flipping for SummerFest

Matt Lenz drills into a potato to prepare a plate of “Twisted Taters” and fried catfish. It’s his third year working at Colorado Springs’ DC Concessions, which has been serving fried catfish from Alabama at the festival for 15 years. A variety of vendors sold food, drinks, jewelry, apparel and artwork.
Zendon Bernal, 17, drives the train full of smiling kids while Mikyla Johnson, 16, rings the bell. Proceeds from the train ride went to the Alamosa High School Wrestling Club.
