Preschoolers line up to give firefighter Cody Van Ry high fives and hugs at the Gingerbread House Early Learning Center on Tuesday for Fire Prevention Week. As part of Fire Prevention Week Van Ry and other members of the Alamosa Fire Department taught the children to not be afraid of them in their gear, how to spot smoke alarms and why it’s important to have a fire escape plan. The group also toured a fire truck, below, and saw it spray water.
