Antonito resident Felipe Jose Romero Jr., 64, passed away November 30, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. Felipe was born on August 13, 1953 in San Antonio, Colorado, the son of Felipe Romero and Faustina Vigil. He worked as a mechanic for many years of his life.  Felipe was a kind and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, partner, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed listening to music, cooking, watching western movies and sports, cleaning and working on his car. Felipe cherished the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughters Lynn Marie Romero, Savannah Maria Romero (Justin Gylling) both of Antonito, CO; sons Felipe Jose (Jennifer) Romero III of Antonito, CO; Lorenzo Ray Romero of Lakewood, CO; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, significant other Bernadine Casias of Antonito, CO; sisters Dorothy Valdez of La Jara, CO; Gloria (Glenn) Brown of Kalacuma, CA; Wilma (Rossi) Duran of San Antonio, CO; brothers Victor (Desmarie) Romero of Manassa, CO; Donald (Bernadette) Romero of Antonito, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Felipe was preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Faustina Romero, and one brother-in-law Leonard Valdez.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Antonito.
