David Wade Valdez

DENVER — David Wade Valdez, 7 months old, of Manassa, passed away on Aug. 27, 2019, at Children’s Hospital in Denver. He was surrounded by his family and many of those who love him. He was born Dec. 28, 2018 in Alamosa, to his loving parents David Levi Valdez and Brooke Elizabeth (Beiriger) Valdez. David may have only been on earth for a little while, but he fought hard and lived in a big way. He was a little cowboy from the very start, born a miracle baby via emergency c-section with his “lasso” wrapped around him three times. He was nothing short of a mama’s boy and loved taunting his daddy with that. He had a smile and laugh that lit up the whole room. He loved playing with his two older sisters. Unfortunately, his life was taken too soon, but in his short time here with us he touched so many hearts.

David is survived by his parents David Levi Valdez and Brooke Elizabeth Beiriger; his two sisters Katherine Marie and Kylie Eufelia Valdez; grandpa John Valdez, Papa Greg and Bama J.J. Beiriger; uncle Jonathan (Samantha) Valdez, aunt Felicia Valdez, uncle Wade (Raelyn) Beiriger, aunt Kayla Beiriger and uncle Joshua Jordan; cousins Lakoda and Ryder Beiriger; many family and friends, and his trusty sidekick Trigger.

He was preceded in death by his great-great-great Valdez grandparents; great-great grandma Eufelia, great Beiriger grandparents, great Hintz grandparents, great-grandpa Elive Valdez; great-uncle David Valdez, great-uncle Chris Beiriger, great-uncle Wade Beiriger, great-uncle Gary and Marilyn Beiriger, Tio Roberto Montoya; uncle Mark Conklin; Cousin Kristina Martinez; and, like a true cowboy, he is also joined on the other side by his paint horse, Thunder.

Services will be held at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home, 205 South Broadway, Monte Vista, Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m.
