Center resident Bernice Rodriguez, 77, passed away May 8, 2018 at the Rio Grande Hospital with her loving family by her side. Bernice came into the world on August 1, 1940 in Las Tablas, New Mexico; the daughter of Epifanio Jimenez and Amalia Velasques Jimenez. Bernice worked in agriculture most of her life. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and friend who enjoyed watching T.V., going for rides and spending time with her family and friends. Bernice was also a member of the Sagrada Familia of Center. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters Sue (Alex) Rivera of Espanola, NM; Solema Irene Sanchez of Denver, CO; Patsy Rodriguez of Alamosa, CO; son John Freddie Rodriguez of Center, CO; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Irene (Jesse) Martinez of Casper, WY; Susan Jimenez, Nea Jimenez both of Boise, ID; brothers John Jimenez of Denver, CO; and Joe Velasquez of Ogden, UT. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Epifanio and Amalia Jimenez, husband Isidore Rodriguez and three infant children.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM at St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Del Norte Cemetery.
