Arnold W. Cordova

ALAMOSA — Alamosa resident Arnold W. Cordova, 71, passed away peacefully November 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Arnold came into the world on August 11, 1948, the son of Sigifredo Cordova and Anita Gonzales Cordova. Arnold served and was a veteran of the United States Army. He fought during Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was also the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with one oak leaf, Clustew IV device and the combat infantry badge. He was a life member of the V.F.W and the B.P.O.E., Dickey Springs Post #113.  Arnold was united in marriage to Linda Morrison on September 23, 1998. He loved to cook and garden. He was an avid Raider fan, he enjoyed listening to music of all kinds, harassing people on facebook, making jokes and dancing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will live on through his wife Linda Cordova of Alamosa, CO; daughters Renee (Bill) Nelson of Leadville, CO; Angelia (Everett) DeVore of Covington, TN; Carol Riggenbach of Monte Vista, CO; Marla (Mark) Ortowski of Windsor, CO; sons Mark (Kathryn) Cordova of Lakewood, CO; Peter (Olivia) Cordova of Alamosa, CO; grandchildren Brandon Cordova, William Nelson, Stone Cordova, Hunter Nelson,  Ryan Cordova, Michael Cordova, Gavyn DeVore, Analecia Cordova, Kinsley DeVore,  Kelli Blenden, Kyle Riggenbach, Leah Ortowski, Ben Ortowski, great-grandson Amillo Cordova, sisters Nemy (Joe) Bell of Canon City, CO; Berlinda (Ross) Armstrong of Cheyenne, WY; Freida Martinez of Garcia, CO;  brothers Raymond Cordova and Jerry Cordova both of Garcia, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Sigifredo and Anita Cordova, grandsons Samuel Cordova, Ronnie Morrison and one brother Moises Cordova.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa with full military honors. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
