Amanda King, 38

Amanda Mae King, 38, of Alamosa, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born September 6, 1979, in La Jara, Colorado to Stanley and Linda (Gowey) Townsend. She was a Graduate of Alamosa High School and also attended Trinidad Junior College and Adams State College. Amanda was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, and sister in addition to being a wonderful caregiver for her grandfather for many years.

She loved spending time with her children, adventures, fishing, and rock collecting. She had a huge heart and was always ready to help anyone, anytime, anyplace.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Linda and Grandmother Betty Gowey.

She is survived by her husband of three months, Jerid Thistle, her children Jett and Vann King, Grandfather William Gowey, Father Stanley (Tammy) Townsend, Brother Chad (Lisa) Townsend, Sister Katy Townsend, Stepbrothers Matthew and Ethan Higinbotham, and many other family and friends who loved her.

Cremation was chosen and a small intimate Memorial will be held for immediate family and close friends, Saturday, February 24, 2018, 1:00 pm at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa with interment to follow at the Alamosa Cemetery.
