Allen E. Harrison

DENVER — Allen E. Harrison of Denver passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2019.

Allen was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from high school in Maceda, Colo. in a graduating class of only two students. Allen was a farmer until age 27, when he became a heavy equipment operator. That career led him to become a truck driver for over 30 years for the John Morrell Co., from where he retired.

He had a love of life, which included many hobbies and passions. He loved his dogs, woodworking and traveling. He belonged to the YMCA and the Humane Society.

Allen loved Square dancing, he taught hundreds of Square dancers throughout his years. He also belonged to many Square dancing clubs: the Rolling wheels, Bear Miller, Rainbows and the Hill toppers.

Allen was also a Mr. Fix-it; he could fix everything with duct tape and bailing wire! He was a kind, strong, hardworking man, and was the best neighbor you could ever ask for. Allen helped his entire street with dog walking, lawn maintenance and snow removal.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Mae Harrison; seven children, Bonnie Harrison-Storey, Jeanene Hernandez (Dave), Douglas Harrison (Deborah), Jim Pratt (Anne), David Harrison (Robin), Janette Kelly and Tracie Harrison-Lucero (Luis); 21 grandchildren, Mindy Farme (Matt), Mike Pratt (Sara), Amanda Demoss (Tom), Kelli Nelson-Skoglund (Jack), Tina Skei, Coda Archuleta, Nicole Harrison-Christensen (Jay), Chip Kelley, Jason Hill (Tiffany), John Pratt III, Chad Hill (Bobbie), Heidi McCarthy (Jim), William Harrison (Amy), Jess Bobitsky (Rob), Michelle Harrison-Clarkson (Wesley), Joseph Lucero, David Harrison (Tina), Bob Luttrell (Janice) and Tim Luttrell (Shel); more than 40 great-grandchildren; and close to 30 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Florence Harrison; and his siblings, Howard Harrison, Wayne Harrison, Calvin Harrison, Ella Harrison, Claude Harrison and Michelle Rupel.
