Antonito resident Alfonso Moreno-Martinez, also known as Pancho and Wedo, 70, went to his eternal rest on March 5, 2019 at the Conejos County Hospital with this loving family by his side. Alfonso was born on July 29, 1948 in Coyote Matamoros, Mexico, the son of Ramon Martinez and Consuelo Moreno. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Rivera on February 16, 2008 in Atlanta, Georgia. Alfonso loved being outdoors, ranching and taking care of his animals, watching cowboy movies, listening to music, cooking outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Rivera of Antonito, CO; daughters Lilly Mondragon of Antonito, CO; Brenda Carina Martinez, Manuela Martinez, Juana Martinez, Patricia Martinez all of Juarez, MX; sons Arnoldo Martienz, Leonardo Martinez, Dalio Martinez all of Juarez , MX; Luis Alfonso Martinez of Colorado Springs, CO; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister Manuela Moreno-Martinez of Juarez, MX; brothers Ricardo Moreno-Martinez of Juarez, MX; Ramon Moreno-Martinez of Atlanta, GA and Martin Moreno-Martinez of Antonito, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents, sister Chata Moreno-Martinez, brother Antonio Moreno-Martinez and six cousins.

Viewing and visitation will be held on March 11, 2019 from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Antonito. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Fox Creek Mormon Church in Fox Creek, Colorado. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
