Alfonso 'Al' A. Maestas Jr., 78

Alamosa resident Alfonso A. Maestas Jr., passed away May 10, 2017 at the Cheyenne Mountain Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his loving family by his side. Alfonso was born on January 15, 1939 in Capulin, Colorado, the beloved son of Alfonso A. Maestas, Sr., and Aurelia Ortega Maestas. He was enlisted and served in the Army National Guard for many years. Alfonso was united in marriage to Jean Valdez. Alfonso was an avid Bronco fan who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and absolutely loved supporting his grandchildren in all that they did. He worked for 45 years at Chaparral Tire and never knew a stranger. Alfonso was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Survivors include his daughter Nancy (Rob) Lindholm of Windsor, CO; sons David Maestas and Michael (Annette) Maestas both of Alamosa, CO; grandchildren Kyle and Jessica Lindholm; sister Lovada Romero of Grand Rapids, MI and brothers Albert (Louise) Maestas of Colorado Springs, CO and Richard J. (Lenora) Maestas of Commerce City, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Aurelia Maestas Sr., and his wife Jean Maestas. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017at 10:00 AM also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment, with Full Military Honors, will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. The care of arrangements have been trusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
