Alamosa resident Albert Garcia, 93, passed away September 22, 2017 at Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa with his loving family by his side. Albert was born to Pedro and Reynalda Garcia on August 13th, 1924 in Antonito, CO. He was united in marriage to his beautiful and loving wife Cordelia Manzanares on February 2nd, 1948 in Conejos, CO. They shared 69 blessed and wonderful years together. Albert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was an exceptional and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who enjoyed going fishing, watching western movies, dancing, listening to Spanish music and watching his grandkids play. He was an avid Broncos fan and rarely missed watching a game. Albert was a skilled rancher and farmer in the Center area for decades. He shared his love of agriculture with his family and demonstrated how hard work, dedication and faith in God can lead to a fulfilled life.

Survivors include his wife Cordelia Garcia of Alamosa, CO; daughters Rose Sanchez of Santa Fe, NM; Alberta Quintana, Sylvia Russell, Linda Garcia, Sharon (Brian) Bustos, Anna Garcia all of Alamosa, CO; son-in-law Ken Riker of Alamosa; brother Pete (Monica) Garcia of Colorado Springs, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Reynalda Garcia, his daughters Frances Riker and Gloria Garcia, his son Albert Garcia Jr. brothers Tano Garcia, Tom Garcia, Isidro Garcia, Solito Garica and Felix Garcia, granddaughter Rosalie Gallegos, great-grandson Jeremy Gallegos and great-grandson Aidyn Grandell.

Cremation was chosen and a vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday September 27th at 7Pm at St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center, CO for Albert and his daughter Frances, who passed away 1 day before her father. A combined Mass of the Resurrection will be held for father and daughter on Thursday September 28th at 1 PM at St. Francis Jerome Catholic Church in Center. Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa have been entrusted with the care of arrangements.
