Air show is Saturday

Audiences enjoy aircraft exhibits at the 2012 air show in Alamosa. The show this year will be held on Saturday, July 13.

ALAMOSA — The San Luis Valley Pilots Association will hold its Annual Fly-In Breakfast and Airshow on Saturday, July 13, at the SLV Regional Airport-Bergman Field, Alamosa, with pancake breakfast served from 7-10 a.m. The fantastic airshow program will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at noon. Lunch will also be available. The airshow will feature aerobatic demonstrations, vintage warbirds, and flying demonstrations of various aircraft, as well as, aircraft on display.

The best part is that admission is free.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper proclaimed July 2013 as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” The industry contributes $2.1 billion each year to Colorado’s economy.

“General aviation connects businesses, provides public safety and links services to communities across the state,” stated Craig L. Fuller, President and CEO of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

Colorado has 76 airports including Alamosa's regional airport.
