SAN ACACIO — San Acacio resident Dorothy Padilla, 79, passed away February 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on September 23, 1933 in San Acacio the daughter of Ezequiel Santistevan and Aurelia Martinez Santistevan. She was a Member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed volunteering her time to help the senior citizens with meals on wheels, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Jose M. Padilla of Lakewood, CO; daughters Geraldine (Robert) Strobel of Abilene, TX; Diana (George) Vazquez, Joyce Angelo and Christine (James) Robinson all of Lakewood, CO; sons Clint Adams Padilla and Joseph M. Padilla III both of Lakewood, CO; six grandchildren, sisters Cecilia (Emery) Quintana of San Acacio, CO; Elsie Stewart of Maui, HI; Aurelia Marquez of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers John (Frances) Santistevan of San Acacio, CO; Samuel (Tina) Santistevan of San Luis, CO. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers George, Baltazar and Ben Santistevan.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Sangre De Cristo Parish. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 AM also at the Sangre De Cristo Parish. Interment will at the San Acacio Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of San Luis.
