Seniors urge flu precautions

Posted: Wednesday, Jan 16th, 2013

Good morning,

The flu season is in full force so let us all take precautions. If you feel sick, we are asking you to please stay away from the senior center and other public places. Think of others.

To prevent the flu, be sure if your body tolerates it, get a flu shot. Try to keep stress from your life, get plenty of fresh air and try to stay away from crowds. Be sure to wash your hands often and use hand sanitizers. Roy Kiefer, one of our senior members, suggested hand sanitizers at each table in the dining room. Judy Wiescamp bought them for us and we thank them very much. We are lucky to have such caring seniors.

Tomorrow, Thursday, the 17th we will be traveling to Taos.

Friday at 1 p.m. there will be a memorial service for Del Martinez here at the center. Del and Kathy were very active members. Del bought our new pool table. He loved to play pool. All the pool players will miss him.

Monday, the 21st the center will be closed for Martin Luther King Day.

Remember, Karen is back teaching line dancing on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Quote of the week: I donít know if it was our offense, our defense or the flu!

See you next week.
