ALAMOSA — The San Luis Valley is home for many women veterans who served our country in war and peace with patriotism, dedication, and courage. But few are recognized, even by other women veterans.
The organization Women Veterans of the San Luis Valley was formed to help local women veterans tell their stories, share problems and solutions, and get information about veterans’ programs.
The Women Veterans meets as an informal support group on the second Saturday of each month, 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the San Luis Valley Museum, 401 Hunt Avenue, Alamosa. The next meeting will be on Oct. 12. Activities are being planned for the Veterans Resource Fair hosted by the Adams State University Veterans Club on Oct. 28.
