ROMEO — Romeo resident Margaret Olivama Torres, 80, a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin, Colorado, passed away on November 15, 2012 at her home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born on May 1, 1932 in Capulin, Colorado the daughter of Francisquita (Naranjo) Jaramillo and Julian Jaramillo. She married Joseph D. Munoz in 1953 and moved to Climax, Colorado. After the death of her husband in 1985, she moved to Alamosa, Colorado until she remarried and moved to Romeo, Colorado. In 1992 she married Jake Torres of Capulin, Colorado and was adopted by a large and loving family.
Mrs. Torres was a devoted wife and mother that enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Margaret was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer.
Survivors include her loving husband Jake Torres of Romeo, Colo.; children Moses (Rita) Munoz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Martin (Maria) Munoz of Brighton, Colo.; adoptive children Naomi (Karl) Kramer, Debbie (Robert) Phillips, Patricia (Robert) Gomez, Irene (Damian) Arellano, Jake (Crystal) Torres, John Torres and Veronica Van Drake, one sister Rose (Ignacio) Ortega of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Joe Munoz, sisters Alva Jaramillo, Angela Kline, Mary Ann Gutierrez, brothers Donald, Jerry, Luis and Joe Adelmo Jaramillo.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. also at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Capulin Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
