ALAMOSA — Alamosa, and its San Luis Valley neighbors, have the chance to help typhoon victims in the Philippines through someone they know and trust.
Marfe Vigil’s home village of Maravilla on Cebu Island was destroyed during the recent typhoon in the Philippines. She leaves on Monday to help bring basic food and water to people in her hometown.
“It was totally wiped out,” Marfe’s husband “Red” Vigil said on Friday. “Her village was destroyed. It was a small village but had quite a few people in it.”For the complete article see the 11-16-2013 issue.
