Missing man last seen in Alamosa

ALAMOSA -- Alamosa and Golden authorities are seeking the public's help in the search for John C. Cizek, 71, who was last seen on June 12 at the McDonald's in Alamosa.
He was traveling in a 2016 Minnie Winnie Winnebago. Cizek's disappearance is considered suspicious, and police are asking for help from anyone who may have seen him.

Sheriff looks to hire dedicated registered nurse

ALAMOSA--Alamosa County's Sheriff Department put in an employee request for a part-time registered nurse at the county commissioners' meeting on Wednesday, June 29.
The sheriff also requested that Dr. Thompson, M.D. serve as an advisor to the department. Thompson is the director of the emergency room at Rio Grande Hospital. The request was unanimously approved.

Duarte dies after power line incident

ALAMOSA -- Authorities are investigating the death of local resident Richard Angelo Duarte, 39, who died following a power line incident in Alamosa County on Wednesday morning.
Alamosa County Sheriff Robert Jackson said Duarte had been working on trees with bucket equipment and hit a power line Wednesday morning. He was transported to the hospital in Alamosa where he died.

Vehicle, pedestrian accident is fatal

SAGUACHE COUNTY -- A youth camping with his family near Bonanza died Wednesday after being hit by a vehicle on Saguache County Road LL56.
On June 29 at 12 p.m. the Colorado State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Saguache County Road LL56 approximately nine miles west of Villa Grove near the community of Bonanza.
