ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Mosquito Control District (AMCD) has discovered the West Nile Virus in mosquitoes trapped within the district on August, 1st at 11:30 a.m. located in East Alamosa on Juniper Lane, just off of Highway 160. AMCD responded immediately by sending all larvicide crews to treat any standing water within the immediate areas of concern. If weather permits the adulticide applications will ensue via fog trucks, handheld backpack sprayers, and an aerial application within the area.
