Douglas was a “people person” who really liked working with people wherever he met them. He was able to help many people, both family and friends through his life. He enjoyed traveling. Due to his hard work in sales, he and Carol enjoyed a Rhine River Cruise and several Caribbean vacations. He liked hunting and made five trips to South America on bird hunting trips, and he traveled to Alaska, South Africa, and Namibia hunting for game. He remained in touch with several people he met on those adventures.
At his direction, Douglas was cremated. Services will take place at a later date. Persons wishing to make memorial gifts may send them to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Texas, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, College Heights Baptist Church in Alamosa, or a charity of their choice.
