Thomas Gary Navarro, 71, sadly left our world on Oct. 17, 2024, in Pueblo, Colo. He was born July 6, 1953, in Alamosa, Colo., to Ruben and Corinne Navarro. 

He is survived by brother David Navarro of Paauilo, Hawaii, sisters:  Patricia Navarro and Victoria Quintana of Pueblo, godchildren: Christopher Wilcox, Noah Calderon and Louis Torrez, cousin Larry Navarro who was like a brother, special friend Patti Fries, six nieces, three nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Corinne Navarro, sister Doris Wilcox and brothers Daniel (Velma) and James Navarro. 

Tom graduated from San Luis High School in 1971. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1978 and received his Master of Arts in Organizational Management in 1993 from the University of Phoenix. 

Tom retired after 30 years of service in the United States Government. Tom worked for several government agencies and retired from the Bureau of Land Management in Lakewood, Colo. 

Tom had a real love of nature and after retirement he realized his dream and bought a large ranch in San Pablo, Colo. He walked the property daily with his constant companions, his four Polish Lowland Sheepdogs: Milo, Taurus, Inca and Hammon. He raised 11 (named) alpacas and sold grass hay bales from his property. He worked hard improving his house, barns and land and kept up with daily chores. It was a labor of love for him. He was so happy to share his place with family and friends and always welcomed company. Tom maintained his friendships over time and distance. His many friends and family were very important to him. 

Tom loved traveling. He traveled to many countries over the years including Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Mexico. Tom was an outdoors man. He loved hiking, camping and mountain climbing. Tom liked dancing, music (especially oldies), reading his daily devotionals and learning about health and wellness, he also authored a book. Tom really loved baseball. He continued to play after retirement, primarily as a pitcher. We will think of him whenever we watch baseball. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Romero Family Funeral Home Chapel, 110 Cleveland St., Pueblo, CO. A reception will be held after the service. 

A graveside service will be held at the San Luis Cemetery in San Luis, Colo., at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28. A reception will follow at the Painted Sage, 211 Main St., San Luis, Colo.
