Alamosa resident Theresa Rael, 52, was called home to be with the Lord on Jan. 22, 2025. Making her grand entrance into the world on April 2, 1972, the beloved daughter of Donna Mary Maes.
Theresa lived life to the fullest and she had the most loving, caring and compassionate nature to her. She was a social butterfly. She loved working with people and being involved in the community.
She was well known for her baby boutique she had in Alamosa, Itsy Bitsy Baby Boutique. In her free time, Theresa enjoyed dancing to music of all genres, she was a music lover in general.
She was devoted to her unwavering faith and her relationship with God. Her infectious laugh and big, bright smile will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She will live on through her mother Donna Mary Maes of Alamosa, Colo.; sons Xavier Ward, Malik Ward both of Atlanta, Ga.; Daughter Shilee Ward of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; sister Leonette Rael of Alamosa, Colo.; brothers Robert Medina of Alamosa, Colo.; Dieago Rael of Alamosa, Colo.; Dominick Rael of Pueblo, Colo.; Lee Huffman of Albuquerque, N.M.; Jim Leyba of Castle, Rock, Colo. She was also loved by numerous aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her birth mother Teresina Lee, grandson Byron Maes Jr., grandmother Viola Lee and great-grandmother Delfina Medina.
A Celebration of Theresa's Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. for Rosary and the Memorial Mass will follow at 10 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Reception to follow at the American Legion at 12 p.m.
