ALAMOSA – The Overall Triathletes in the Splashland Annual Benefit Sprint Triathlon included: Jarrod Trainor, Albuquerque, NM, male; time 59 min 23 sec; Desiree DallaGuardia, Walsenburg, Colo., female, time 1 hour 5 min and 45 secs. The race began at 9 a.m. with a temperature of 39 degrees and a 2 MPH breeze. At the finish, the temperature hovered around 50 degrees with a 2 MPH breeze. Pool temperature was 83-86 degrees.
The October 20 event had 49 participants, 5 Relay Teams, close to 60 participants in all.

According to Bush, race director, the sprint triathlon sped off and finished without any accidents or injuries. “Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this event possible. Splashland will now be able to purchase ADA pool wheelchairs from this benefit event to accommodate all patrons to our pool. We keep working to give full access at our pool and facilities to all individuals and this event makes that a reality and very much possible to all our visitors”
