ALAMOSA — The Board of Managers of Special Improvement District No. 2 of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District (Subdistrict No. 2) has held numerous public meetings starting back in May 2016 in an effort to prepare a more detailed draft of the Plan of Water Management based on the Conceptual Plan that was presented during the petition drive to form Subdistrict No. 2.

Special Improvement District No. 2 special meeting set

ALAMOSA — The Board of Managers of Special Improvement District No. 2 of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District (Subdistrict No. 2) has held numerous public meetings starting back in May 2016 in an effort to prepare a more detailed draft of the Plan of Water Management based on the Conceptual Plan that was presented during the petition drive to form Subdistrict No. 2.

The board of managers has completed this process of drafting the Plan of Water Management and is now ready to present the draft for public comment at a special meeting to be held on September 5th beginning at 8:30 a.m. The special meeting will be held at the office of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, 8805 Independence Way, Alamosa.

Copies of the draft Plan of Water Management are available in advance of the meeting at the Rio Grande Water Conservation District’s Office. The draft is also available on the district’s website at www.rgwcd.org.

      The board of managers of Subdistrict No. 2 encourages members of Subdistrict No. 2 to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss the draft Plan of Water Management before the board puts the Plan of Water Management in final form to submit to the board of directors of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, the State Engineer and the Water Court. The board of managers will use this opportunity to explain the Draft Plan and answer any questions, address other concerns and make changes if necessary.  Representatives from the Division of Water Resources will be in attendance at this meeting.
