ALAMOSA — The gang at Society Hall held their annual celebration on Saturday, Sept. 14, next to the hall on 4th Street in Alamosa. Society Hall is Alamosa's premier location for live music.
Ruthie Brown, who is on the Society Hall Foundation board, told the Valley Courier, "What is really cool about Society Hall is that last week, our artist had just been at the Grand Old Opry. She came here to perform here, and that is very cool. She wants to come back. Everyone who has played here wants to come back. The community is so supportive of our gathering today that people donate."
The celebration offered music, and a variety of soups donated by community members.
Musical acts at the celebration included Robear, Side Trips, Ry Taylor, Hogan, and Moss. Donated soups included White chili, Vegetable beef stew, African peanut stew, and a wonderful Elk sausage green chili.
Society Hall is a nonprofit; tax-deductible donations can be made at the website www. Societyhall.com.
