As part of the Alamosa Streets Trust Fund tax that was passed in 2019, reconstruction of Second Street, from Cole Park to West Avenue, began on Monday, March 3.
Crews will replace water and sewer lines, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks over the next five months. In this March 10 photo, crews from Gardner Excavation were busy at work.
The three-phase project that has started on Second Street and Cole Park will extend to West Avenue and take about five months to complete.
Expect temporary closures on State Avenue and be prepared to use alternate routes.
