Today, We lost the matriarch of our family, Sara Valdez, who was just shy of turning 95 years old. She was born in New Mexico and traveled to Colorado as a baby in a covered wagon to the San Luis Valley with her parents and multiple brothers and sisters, before settling in Pueblo, Colorado.
Sara was the proud owner of a bar and dance hall with her late husband, Eddie Valdez.
She had the best sense of humor and was always independent — she was way ahead of her time.
She was the Parade Marshall of Capulin, Colorado and an iconic figure in the community who loved music, dance, and her faith.
Sara was the mother to Yolanda (Gene Aguilar) and Greta (Michael Chosich), and the grandmother to: Josh Aguilar, Nic Aguilar, Patrick Aguilar (Jamie Aguilar), Justin Chosich (Michelle DeAngelo-Chosich), and Jerica Chosich (Andrew Zucker).
She was also a great-grandmother to Jaden, Tyler, Darius, Zach, Evan, Liam, Lucca, and Milo.
Sara will be forever and loved by everyone she knew for her dynamic personality, pride, and her love for fashion.
We love you always and forever.
