Asher Ruybal, a third-grader at Bill Metz Elementary School in Monte Vista, won the Rocky Mountain Nationals elementary state championship in Denver in March. He competed in the 2nd/3rd-grade division 70-pound weight class. He won the 62-pound division last season. Ruybal currently wrestles for Steel City Reloaded Wrestling Cliub and the Sargent Farmer Wrestling Club.
