Ruben Pacheco

On Oct. 25, 2023, a loving, caring, and extremely strong heart stopped beating. This was a huge loss to a community who embraced him and were blessed with his total support.

Alfred was born on Nov. 6, 1955, to Ruben and Anna Maria Pacheco. Alfred married the love of his life, Nancy Chavez, on March 6, 1982. This beautiful union produced a family that has continued to bless our community and its families. Jennifer and Ed, Arthur and Christina, Ernest and Brittany were all part of his world. His love for his family was evident by the way he loved his granddaughter, Alexandra.

He was born in Alamosa and brought home to the Trinchera Ranch as a newborn. His heart never left the land that always had a Pacheco working on it since 1952. Collectively, his dad Ruben, Alfred and Ernest all gave over 70 years to the Trinchera Ranch. Alfred's greatest honor was to protect and support the employees he was responsible for. They were like family to him.

In memory of Alfred, please look at the mountains in which he lived and loved; and spread his love and willingness to always do better, give unconditionally and love from the bottom of your heart. That's who he was, and he will be greatly missed.

Alfred was preceded in death by his father Ruben Pacheco, sisters-in-law Marguerite Salazar and Marie Pacheco, nephew Lorenzo Pacheco and father-in-law Ernest Chavez.

He is survived by his mother Anna Maria Pacheco, siblings Elizabeth Betty Pacheco, Sarah and Charles Manzanares, Richard Pacheco, Arnold Salazar, Lillian and Pete Gomez, Lawrence and Tammy Pacheco, Isabelle and Carmel Cordova, Christina Pacheco, and nephews and nieces, too many to mention but were all very, very important to their uncle Alfred.

Alfred’s wishes were to not have services. Please support his family as they take the time to heal. The family would like to thank everyone for the support and love shown during this most difficult time

The care of arrangements has been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
