San Antonio resident Rosenaldo “Ross” Duran, 87 passed away June 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. Rosenaldo was born on April 9, 1938, in San Antonio, Colo., the son of Augustin and Lucia Duran.
Rosenaldo worked for and retired from Robins Construction after 40 years. He was united in marriage to Wilma Romero Duran on Aug. 6,1967 in Antonito, Colo., and will have celebrated 58 years together in August.
Rosenaldo enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, and being in the mountains. He loved the time he spent with his family, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosenaldo was a member of the Conejos County Search and Rescue Team for several years.
Survivors include his loving wife Wilma Duran, sons Rossi D. Duran (Lorrie Garcia) of Antonito, Colo., Jeremiah (Roxanne) Duran of Pueblo, Colo., daughter Sheryl Duran (Alfred Sanchez) of Alamosa, Colo., grandsons Fernandez (Megan) Garcia of Antonito, Colo., Ronnie Garcia of Antonito, Colo., Joaquin (Darian) Duran of Alamosa, Colo., granddaughters Bianca Duran of Antonito, Colo., Miakota Duran of Antonito, Colo., great-grandchildren, Paige Duran, Azalayah Duran and Neeko Quintana, brother Paul Duran Antonito, Colo., and sister Sophia Leal Belle Glade, Fla., close Friends Randy Robins, Daniel Robins, Adam Robins, Cathy Quinlan, and Robins Construction Crew. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rosenaldo was preceded in death by parents Augustin and Lucia, Daughter Danette Duran, Granddaughter Krystal Duran, Grandson, Byron “Bubba” Duran, brothers Nick, Augustin JR., Eusebio, Alonzo, Arturo, Elias, Johnny and sisters Helen, Rosa, Emma, Eufelia.
Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m., Rosary at 10:30 a.m., and a Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. all June 19, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Ortiz Cemetery.
