Rhonda Sue Richardson, a cherished member of the Del Norte community, was born on April 8, 1963, in Del Norte, CO, and tragically left this world on November 25, 2024. She was a kind-hearted and nature-loving soul who found solace in the outdoors, particularly while fishing barefoot among the beauty of nature.
Rhonda's warm and caring spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her selflessness and generosity were unparalleled, always offering a helping hand to those in need. As the Rio Grande County Treasurer for six years, she served her community with dedication and grace, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered.
Beyond her public service, Rhonda was a successful entrepreneur, having owned businesses such as Bright Star Satellites and a charming flower shop. She also provided tax and bookkeeping services to many, showcasing her unwavering work ethic and commitment to helping others.
Family meant everything to Rhonda, and she took great pride in seeing her daughter, Amber, embrace new milestones, including her marriage to Jordan Downing. Rhonda's genuine and loving nature shone brightly through her relationships with her daughter, mother Velda, her step-son Shaun (Regina) Howell, her brothers Gary (Jane) Simpson, Robert (Cara) Simpson, John (Clydette) Simpson, step-brothers, Michael (Cindy) Lance, John (Stacy) Lance, Brian Lance, Chad (Jessica) Lance as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
