Alamosa City Councilman Jan Vigil and his daughter Concetta, 4, help plant a Spring Snow Crabapple on State Avenue by the Alamosa Cemetery entrance on Friday in celebration of Arbor week. In addition to the crabapple, Canada Red Chokecherry, Toba Hawthorn and Tatarian Maple trees were also planted along the corridor.
After planting six of the 10 trees, Alamosa Tree Board members, Alamosa Department of Parks Recreation employees and volunteers pose for a photo on Friday. A second group finished the planting later in the afternoon.
