Alamosa resident Phil A. Lucero 28, passed away December 8, 2022, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Phil was welcomed into the world on December 7, 1994, the son of Gabriel Lucero and Johanna Lucero. After he graduated high school he went on to work as a supervisor for Idaho Pacific Potato Company. Family and friends will remember Phil for his compassionate and caring nature. He truly would give the shirt off his back and help anyone who was in need. He was humble and wore his heart on his sleeve. Phil was also very intelligent and he was an artist. He was very skilled working with his hands. He loved to paint, draw and do wood burning. His contagious laugh and sense of humor will be missed dearly. When he did have free time he enjoyed going gambling and liked fast cars. He also was a volunteer firefighter for Center Fire Department.
Survivors include his father Gabriel Lucero (Sheila Martinez), mother Johanna Lucero, Fiancé Shyanne Walden, sisters Deanna Lucero (Randy Gonzales) Esperanza Lucero (Anthony Garcia), brothers Gabriel Lucero Jr., Christopher Lucero, nieces and nephews Desire Montoya, Cameron Gonzales, Kasidee Gonzales, Elias Lucero, Crystal Rodriguez, Amariah Lucero, Marciano Lucero, Liahna Lucero, Gabriela Lucero and Nathaniel Lucero. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his younger brother Joseph Adam Lucero, grandparents Neoma Lucero-Hewitt and Phil Lucero.
Rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. also at Our Lady of the Valley. Interment will follow at the La Jara Cemetery.
