Paul L. Pacheco, a lifelong resident of Alamosa, Colo., passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Denver, Colo., surrounded by his loving family while under hospice care.

Born in Alamosa on Feb. 2, 1958, Paul was the beloved son of Jose and Benita Pacheco. After completing his education, he pursued his passion for mechanics by attending trade school. Throughout his life, Paul worked diligently as a truck driver and in construction across the San Luis Valley, earning a reputation as a dedicated and skilled worker who took immense pride in his craft.

Outside of work, Paul embraced life fully. He found joy and freedom riding his Harley, cherished time spent fishing and hunting and had a knack for working on cars. Above all, Paul’s greatest joy was his family. He treasured moments with his children and grandchildren, especially the special bond he shared with his grandson Lionel, with whom he embarked on countless adventures.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Benita; his first wife, Barbara Pacheco (Gonzales); and his brothers Don, David, Gene, and Walter Pacheco.

He is survived by his daughters, Brittney Pacheco and Mariah Vigil; his cherished grandchildren, Lionel, Leilani, and Trinity; his sister, Cathy Montano; his brothers, John (Evelyn) Pacheco and Ray (Leeds) Pacheco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

In his final days, Paul was lovingly cared for by his ex-wife, Leona Pacheco, and his daughter, Brittney, whose unwavering support and compassion provided comfort during his hospice care.

Paul will be remembered for his strength, warmth, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories he created with those who loved him most. He was the greatest father and grandfather anyone could ask for.
