Melaquias Olivario Jaramillo Sr., 87 of Manassa passed away on Dec. 20, 2022, in his family home surrounded by his loving family.
Today we say goodbye to our patriarch of the Jaramillo family. Mel was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. There was not a soul that came across Mel's path that he didn't consider a friend. He loved visiting with everyone, and he always had a story to tell. He was an intelligent man who knew exactly what he wanted and gave us direction and guidance until the very end.
Mel was a man of many talents and an entrepreneur whom took great pride in; Mel’s Meat Processing, Abe’s place and Dairy King to mention a few. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, fishing, and the time he spent teaching his grandchildren how to drive.
His greatest joy above all was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. He was a penitente and enjoyed praying the rosary, he was very devoted to his faith. Mel Sr., was born in Lobatos, Colo., to David Jaramillo and Petrolina Lopez Jaramillo. He was the second oldest of 10 siblings.
