ALAMOSA – The Alamosa High School baseball team had another come from behind win on Tuesday as it defeated 10th-ranked Lamar in the first game of a doubleheader, 11-9.
However, the Mean Moose were unable to continue the momentum into the second game as they were defeated by the Thunder 14-3.
“That was a good first game win,” said Alamosa coach Tony Kechter. “We were down 8-3 and came back and scored eight in the later innings to get that win. Our pitching the first game was great. Tony Griego did a great job to start and Xavier Lujan came in and closed it out and that’s his third win of the year. We just came out flat that second game. Maybe a little too excited from that first game and couldn’t get out back together.”
