Marvin Gale Divine

Posted

Marvin Gale Divine, 73, lost his battle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) on Jan. 11, 2025. Marvin was born in Alamosa, Colo., on Nov. 15, 1951, to Benny and Lavera Divine. He grew up and lived in Alamosa until 1984 when he moved to Aztec, N.M. He lived a life devoted to his family, providing wisdom, guidance, and the strong foundation upon which his family grew and thrived.

Marvin had the biggest heart and an amazing smile. He was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Marvin had a great sense of humor and could always bring laughter to any room, especially around the table playing cards, where his wit and charm made every game a fun and memorable time. Above all, he loved his family.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife and precious caretaker Janice Divine; his siblings Wilma Burns (Kenny) and Karen VanIwaarden (Steve); his children James Diaz (Ronda), Tami Divine, Jeremy Divine (Teddi), Jasmin Divine Dalm (Erik), Sommar Cole (Chad), and Season Mills (Kenneth); and his grandchildren Jeremiah, Caitlyn (Brandon), Kelsey, Bryn (Luke), Rylee, Chloe, Avery, Kyleigh, Jenna, Nicholas, Quinn, Kaiden, Grace, Arjen and Lincoln and his great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Kay and the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for, Scott Hardin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benny and Lavera Divine and son J.L. Divine.

We would like to thank Guardian Angel and express our sincere gratitude to Judith, our Hospice Nurse, for her compassionate and dedicated care for Marvin during his final days. Her kindness and support made a profound difference during a difficult time.

At this time, no formal services will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date, and details will be shared when available.
